What are POP3 and SMTP servers?
Solution

These are the servers we use to receive and send email messages.

POP3 (Short for Post Office Protocol Version 3) servers receive email messages and store them until they are downloaded and deleted. Your email client connects to our POP3 server to collect your messages, once it has successfully received all of them the email client will most likely be set to automatically delete them from the server.

If you have a domain registered with us your pop3 server should be listed as pop3.yourdomain (i.e. pop3.exampledomain.co.uk).

SMTP (Short for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) servers are used to send email to the 'outside world'. When you send a message your email client will forward it on to your ISP's SMTP servers which then send the message to its destination.

If you connect to the Internet through us and you have a domain registered with us your SMTP server should be listed as smtp.yourdomain (i.e. smtp.exampledomain.co.uk).
